Loading ePubs on to your Kobo eReader

On Windows

You'll need:

Steps

  1. Connect your eReader to your PC with a Micro USB cable.
  2. Hit Connect on your eReader.
  3. When prompted on your computer, click Open folder to view files. A window will open, and you'll see it is a folder that contains all your eBook files on your eReader.
  4. On your computer, open a new explorer window and find the eBooks you want to add to your eReader.
  5. Select all the books you want to add, and then either drag and drop them into the eReader folder, or copy and paste them across.
  6. Don't forget to eject your eReader before disconnecting the Micro USB cable.

Your ebook is now available to read from your Kobo eReader whenever you like.

On Apple Mac

You'll need:

  1. Connect your eReader to your PC with a Micro USB cable.
  2. Hit Connect on your eReader.
  3. Open up Finder on your computer.
  4. You'll see a list of devices. Select KOBOeReader.
  5. Open a new Finder window, with the books you want to add.
  6. Select all the books you want to add, and drag and drop them into the KOBOeReader Finder window.

Your ebook is now available to read from your Kobo eReader whenever you like.

Using an SD card

Sometimes you may have a whole collection of ebooks to move to a new device. At these times, it can be easier to load the files on to an SD card, to insert into your eReader.

You'll need

Please note: The following devices DO NOT have a Micro SD slot: Kobo Glo HD, Kobo Touch 2.0, and Kobo Mini.

Steps

  1. Using a suitable SD Card Adapter plug your MicroSD card into your computer. It should appear as a drive or folder.
  2. On your computer, select the ePubs you want to add to your eReader.
  3. Copy+Paste or Drag-and-Drop them into your Micro SD card folder.
  4. When the books have all been copied across, eject and remove the MicroSD card from your computer.
  5. Ensure your eReader is turned off.
  6. Pop the Micro SD card into the slot on your eReader. This is usually underneath the back cover.
  7. Start up your eReader again. Give it a few minutes, and your books will appear.

Don't forget: when you take your Micro SD card out of your eReader, your books will disappear from your eReader's library.
