Using an SD card
Sometimes you may have a whole collection of ebooks to move to a new device. At these times, it can be easier to load the files on to an SD card, to insert into your eReader.
You'll need
- your Kobo eReader
- a computer where you downloaded your ebooks
- a large enough capacity MicroSD card (between 4 and 8GB should be more than enough)
- a suitable SD Card Adapter to connect the MicroSD card to your computer (MicroSD to USB, MicroSD to SD, etc.)
Please note: The following devices DO NOT have a Micro SD slot: Kobo Glo HD, Kobo Touch 2.0, and Kobo Mini.
Steps
- Using a suitable SD Card Adapter plug your MicroSD card into your computer. It should appear as a drive or folder.
- On your computer, select the ePubs you want to add to your eReader.
- Copy+Paste or Drag-and-Drop them into your Micro SD card folder.
- When the books have all been copied across, eject and remove the MicroSD card from your computer.
- Ensure your eReader is turned off.
- Pop the Micro SD card into the slot on your eReader. This is usually underneath the back cover.
- Start up your eReader again. Give it a few minutes, and your books will appear.
Don't forget: when you take your Micro SD card out of your eReader, your books will disappear from your eReader's library.
